“What if I am Practicing Incorrectly?”

“What if I am practicing incorrectly?” someone asked. You must allow yourself to “play” with the principles. There will never be perfection. Even after 44 years, I too have to reconfigure my movements. So that being said, I told the student to “go ahead and fake it” with the awareness of – that is what you are doing; then come to class and ask questions. Chances are you may have more questions, about that same movement, in years to come.

Thank you for framing this process in a way that affirms effort, change and growth. After several years I am still learning about how to do the preparation and beginning Tai Chi movements.. I love that one can continue to improve and deepen one’s understanding of the postures and the principles.
