Ongoing Classes

 

The Peaceful Dragon School of T’ai Chi Ch’uan and Chi Kung offers comprehensive learning in Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced T’ai Chi Ch’uan (TCC), as well as Basic and Intermediate Soft and Hard Chi Kung.  Classes begin about the second week of  September; second week of January; and the last week of April. For mini workshops at the school and national seminars check the Calendar of Events.

tai chiBeginner Tai Chi – Learning the Form
(TC 1 – first/third; TC 2 – second/third; and TC 3 – third/third)
The T’ai Chi form is a series of postures linked together in a continuous, fluid manner. As an internal Chinese martial art, the form focuses on self-cultivation, integrates both physical and mental energy mechanics, promotes relaxation, and builds a sense of presence and awareness. T’ai Chi is often characterized as a moving meditation. Register for one class and you can attend all 4 sessions per week – whatever your schedule allows – at no extra cost! (Level 1 – just beginning students as well as Level 2 and 3 are all in the same class.)  Tuition: $185

Self-Care Energy Work (Chi Kung/Qigong)
MeditationFeeling like you could use some self-care techniques that will help to give you an energy cleanse and revitalize your sense of well-being? During these sessions you can learn basic stretches, breathing and visualization meditations, and self-acupressure (acu-points used in acupuncture) for just this purpose! These techniques are called Qigong meaning Energy Work. Best of all these exercises can be easily added to your self-care tool box and used daily. Classes taught by Master Wasentha Young. Register for one class and you can attend all 3 sessions per week – whatever your schedule allows – at no extra cost!  Tuition: $185

  • Mon. 9-10 AM (Focus on a routine of stretches, meditation, and self-acupressure.)
  • Tues. 6-7 PM (Focus on the Wild Goose Form [a series of movements that include stretches, imagery, and acu-point activation] and the traditional Chinese medicine 5 Element theory.)
  • Thurs. 6-7 PM (Focus on cultivating energy, stretches, meditation and self-acupressure.)

Form Progression 1
Enables students who have completed learning the form (1-6 years) to embody the basic principles of mind/body mechanics in motion and deepen the benefits of their practice. (FP students – if this time does not fit into your schedule, you can attend FP2) You can also attend any of the TC 1, 2, or 3 classes at no extra cost!  Tuition: $170

Enables students who have completed learning the form (6+ years) to embody the advanced principles of mind/spirit mechanics in motion and deepen the benefits of their practice. (FP students – if this time does not fit into your schedule, you can attend FP1) You can also attend any of the TC 1, 2, or 3 classes at no extra cost!  Tuition: $170
