Created by Professor Cheng man-Ching and taught by Master Young, the Eight Methods are 8 images and accompanying movements. Each one gives simple mind/body language to the Tai Chi basic principles. These methods are very useful as an introduction to Tai Chi, teaching mature adults, and people who need reacquainting with their physical.
Practitioners and teachers of Tai Chi alike can benefit from this workshop.
As a practitioner, the Eight Methods offer an opportunity for you to experience the basic principles of Tai Chi in eight simple, isolated images with movement. The benefits of practicing the Eight Methods are likened to the improvement in balance and coordination that Tai Chi offers. If you decide to learn, or practice, Tai Chi form the mind/body techniques you achieved from the Eight Methods can be easily applied.
For teachers, the Eight Methods offers simple visualizations combined with movement that can be used to introduce students to the basic principles of Tai Chi. Seniors also enjoy these isolated images and movement as simple ways to move while achieving improved coordination and balance in motion.
