Certifications

The Tai Chi Chuan Certification Track is approximately 3 years. Students can request an application after completing 1 year/3 semesters and by appointment with Master Young. As part of the certification, a student must have completed basic, intermediate and advanced training which include:

  • Tai Chi Chuan Form (3 semesters to complete)
  • 3 semesters of Form Progression
  • 2 semesters of Push Hands
  • Sword Form
  • Assist for 3 semesters of Form
  • Student teach 3 semesters of Form
  • Professional Development – Including teaching agreement

And two electives from the list below:

  • Chi Kung Fundamentals
  • Tai Chi Application
  • I-Ching
  • Hsing I or Pa Kua workshop
  • Attend a visiting teacher workshop

Upon completion of these classes, certification is a process whereby the student must assist in TC 1, 2, and 3; become a supervised teacher in TC 1, 2, and 3; demonstrate the TCC form; and create a form (does not have to be martial) that exemplifies the embodiment of the TCC principles.

Tuition: $1000 each year until certification is completed. (After the 1.5 years of learning the Form and one semester of Form Progression – this fee includes all advanced TCC courses and training – does not include electives)

The Chi Kung Certification Track is a 2.5 year process. Student can request an application for the certification program after the first year and by appointment with Master Young. As part of certification, a student must have completed the basic and intermediate courses which include:

  • Fundamentals of Chi Kung
  • Wild Goose Chi Kung Form
  • Self-Acupressure
  • Meditation
  • Five Element Theory
  • Introduction to Tai Chi (1 semester = First/Third)
  • Professional Development – including teaching agreement

And two electives from the list below:

  • I-Ching
  • Nurturing Touch
  • Season Spirit Series
  • 8 Ways
  • Lecture from visiting professional (i.e acupuncturist, chi kung, meditation, herbologist, feng shui, etc.)

Upon completion of these classes, certification is a process whereby the student must assist in class, document a study project, demonstrate application of knowledge – a case study, demonstration, and a written and oral exam.

Tuition: $1000 per year (first two semesters student enrolls in regular ongoing chi kung classes. After the $1000 tuition includes all intermediate courses and training – does not include electives)
